Groups

The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) welcomes international student groups for customized study and cultural experiences. Group programs are designed to give students a supportive introduction to Canadian school life, improve English skills, and explore Canadian culture — all within a safe and welcoming environment.

Program Length Options

Group programs are flexible and can be tailored to the needs of each school or organization.

Academic Opportunities

Group programs provide international students with a balance of academic learning and cultural immersion. Students:

  • Attend classes with Canadian classmates to experience daily school life.
  • Improve English skills through both academic activities and social interactions.
  • Participate in non-credit learning opportunities that focus on communication, collaboration, and cultural exchange.

Life Outside the Classroom

Group programs combine classroom learning with activities that encourage cultural exploration and team building. Students can:

  • Take part in excursions and field trips designed especially for groups.
  • Experience Canadian traditions through school and community events.
  • Join in sports, clubs, and school activities where available.
  • Live with Canadian homestay families through the Canada Homestay Network, giving students a safe and welcoming home environment.

Benefits for Groups

  • Programs designed to match the age, size, and goals of each group.
  • A balance of academic study, cultural activities, and English language practice.
  • Dedicated support from SCDSB staff to ensure a smooth and positive experience.
